Being a Mother - What to Do When You're Exhausted

Becoming a mother is a heavenly experience but it can be really exhausting too. Mothers all over the world complain about not getting enough time for themselves. In this article I will offer some relaxation tips for mothers so that they are able to manage their time and energy more effectively.

• Set your priorities: Make a list of all activities which consume your time and then relist them in order of priority. Do not stress yourself over tasks which are not very important or can be done by others. Once you sort everything out, you will be able to find time for yourself and your family which will relax you.

• Meditate: Meditation is any practice which relaxes your mind and soul such as prayer, exercise, yoga or kung fu. Also, it may involve being alone for some time and just pondering over yourself. These actions relieve your mind and enable you to manage stressful situations.

• You are what you eat: Incorporate fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet as much as you can. This will boost your confidence and reduce your worries about your weight. Keep you vitamin levels normal because lack of vitamins in body can make you feel irritated. If you feel good, you will be able to relax your mind.

• Smile: According to research, if you put on a fake smile on your face for a long time, it induces happiness. So, try to smile more. Think about all the good times of your life and let yourself sink in those moments. You are as happy as you want yourself to be, so try to make the atmosphere around you more lively and cheerful by cheering up yourself first.

• Revitalize yourself: There is nothing wrong with trying out new things because they brighten your life. Treat yourself to that new dress you saw in a shop but could not buy because you were too busy saving up money. Go out with friends. Rouse that chemistry with your husband and show him you are still young at heart. Go on a family vacation. Hence, do anything that adds up to your good memories.

• Be prepared, for better or for worse: If you already figure out the weaknesses and strengths of any task you are attempting, you will be mentally prepared for failure. Thus, instead of breaking into pieces at that moment, you will be thinking of alternate ways of doing the same thing and will be able to reduce your anxiety level.
