Pursuing Your Dreams In The Mayhem of Motherhood

I happened to be pondering all of the things I have to accomplish in tomorrow's time: Homeschooling, Housework, Filling tutu orders, Changing the Cat Litter, Working Out & Grocery shopping, when I get it into my head to add something else to my plate: Going Back To School. As soon as the idea popped into my head, I shoved it out with a mental bulldozer. My second thought was: "YES! I want to go back to college and with God, ALL things are possible, so I CAN do it!!!" But the tiny man with the HUGE voice was reminding me that I haven't an ounce of time in my semi-not-so-organized schedule to even breathe, less known further my education. How in the world could I possibly do it (and stay out of the mental institution)?
I think this is a conundrum that many women face today: getting through The List. You know the one I'm referring to. The list of all of our junk that we HAVE to complete in a day's time because we are the glue to holding our family together. Meanwhile, God is holding US together (by a thread, I might add) until the next appointed Mom's Night Out. So, yes, it is insane to think of adding anything to our hefty leisure-free plates.
However, if we deny ourselves evolving and moving forward in any sort of capacity because our lives are juggling acts holding precariously to a rotating 'thing', we will never get to do any of the fun stuff. I for one, do not want to be overloaded, but I also don't want to put my life on hold because I'm multi-tasking, well... my life.
So, I've come up with this non-solution to this female dilemma: Be everything you are and hold nothing back. There is something in you that may speak to the creativity in someone else or open up door for something else to sweetly disrupt your life, adding more depth & flavor to your character. I LOVE being led by my imagination. From there comes a new tutu design or another idea for my period play. God has given us women so many talents and we shouldn't be afraid to run with them. Push something aside, delete some things, conveniently "forget" some things on your To Do List, to do something worthwhile for yourself. A famous slogan says of women that "...we're worth it." Well, I happily second the notion.
