Who Can Find a Virtuous Woman?

I recently read an article about how mothers have to keep up with today's values and beliefs and teach their children what is current. A true mother doesn't change her values and beliefs to current ones. A true mother teaches decent, moral values and what is right from wrong. What was wrong years ago still applies today. Don't change your beliefs because someone else tells you to. A child needs to have a stable belief system and not one that is ever changing. If you have a job that is ever changing, it is hard to keep up. You don't know what your job is all about. What would you do if you went to work and you were told to do one thing one day, and then the next day your employer told you to do something that was completely different. It would be hard to perform the job, because you would be confused on what is expected. You would probably rethink your position on if you really wanted this type of job or not. The same applies to your children.

In Erickson's Stage of Psychomotor Development, children are trying to transition from childhood to adulthood. They may start to feel confused or insecure about themselves and how they fit in to today's society. They are trying to establish a sense of self. They may experiment with different roles, activities and behaviors to develop a direction for their life. According to Erickson, those who receive proper encouragement through their own personal exploration will develop into a person who has a strong sense of self and a feeling of independence and control. Those who remain unsure of their beliefs and desires will be insecure and confused throughout their life.

I have written a poem about what a true Virtuous Mother is, and I hope you will take a firm stand against immoral values.

Poem: Virtuous Mother

Who can find an honorable and loving woman,
For her price is far above rubies,
She is kind and offers to them a lending hand,
Her children come first, before her own needs.
She rises yet early while it is night,
To prepare her household for the day to come,
She makes sure everything is perfect and right,
Her children are blessed by who she is.
Her mission is to provide a good home,
Protection is her main focus and goal,
For her children have no need to roam,
For they rest well in their beds each night.
She is a teacher of what is honest and right,
She leads and offers herself a role model,
Her beliefs and faith are always in sight,
For she is a virtuous mother.
